AI drafts the claim decision. Two people sign off the ones that matter.

For insurers, TPAs and hospital billing desks. Your AI agents draft pre-auth and claim decisions. Deedglass holds the ones your rules name until two different people approve. It checks what the claims system saved, and seals each step for your auditors.

Try it: a pre-auth with two approvers · The one-hour limit

  • Makes no claim decisions
  • Runs on your own servers, in India if you choose
  • Works with your claims system’s web API

Where AI acts in claims

What waits for people, and what doesn’t.

You write the rules. Here is a starting point for a cashless desk.

  • Pre-authorisation decisions

An AI drafts approve, partial or query. A partial approval or a denial waits for two people. A full approval can go with one, if your rules say so.

    Two people
  • Payouts above a set amount

A rule can compare the amount, in rupees, and ask for two people above it.

    Two people
  • Query letters

An AI drafts a query to the hospital. One person can approve it, if your rules say so.

    One person
  • Policy and cover details

An AI can read them, but not change them.

    Read only
  • Claim status updates

Routine updates are saved, then read back to check the claims system holds what was sent.

    Saved, then checked
  • Deleting a record

Blocked. A mistake is fixed with a new version, and the old one stays.

    Blocked

Try it

Approve as the medical officer, then hand over.

The AI drafts a partial approval. Approve it, then try to approve again as yourself. Then hand over to the claims manager. Add a problem to see a wrong amount caught.

A simulation. Made-up patient, people and ids. It runs only in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.

What Deedglass did

  1. Your rulesHeld under the rule “Partial approvals and denials need two people”.
  2. Two peopleWaiting for two different people to decide.
  3. SavingNothing goes to the claims system until both approve.
  4. The checkRuns after saving: it reads the record back.
  5. Sealed recordMade when the request ends, whatever the answer.

It holds ids and fingerprints, not the patient’s details. Fingerprints of short values, like a UHID, can be guessed until salting ships, so keep identifiers out of what agents send where you can. “Saved as approved” means the record says what was approved. It is not a clinical check.

Four eyes

The maker-checker control auditors look for.

  • Two different people.

A rule can need two people. One person can’t approve twice, one refusal is final, and an agent can never approve itself.4 A refusal stops the AI’s draft. It doesn’t deny the claim: your desk decides that.

  • Amounts in rupees.

A rule can compare an amount in the request, in a currency such as INR, for example to need two people above ₹1,00,000.6

  • A desk that works in shifts.

A rule can name several people, and any one of them can approve.5 Today each approver is a named person. Groups, such as the medical officers on shift, are coming.7

  • The free rules start you off.

The healthcare rules need two different people for claims and other billing records, and keep cover details read only.7

Turnaround

The one-hour limit, answered honestly.

IRDAI asks insurers to decide on a cashless request within one hour, and to authorise discharge within three hours.2 Deedglass adds a human step. It doesn’t make anything faster.

Set the wait inside the limit

Each rule sets how long an approval waits, from one minute to seven days.4 For cashless requests, set it well inside the hour, and only hold the decisions that need people.

When nobody decides

The request expires and nothing runs. A webhook can tell your own systems, so the case goes back to your manual desk.8

If Deedglass is down

AI actions that go through it don’t run. It fails closed.9 Your desk keeps working without the agent until it is back.

What others do

Medi Assist says its platforms enabled more than 186,000 pre-authorisations that each took under five minutes, as on 30 June 2026.1 Medi Assist doesn’t use Deedglass. Plan where a person’s approval fits before you automate.

Your claims system

Does it fit?

  • A web API on your claims platform

Deedglass calls any HTTPS JSON API through tools you define, and reads back the fields you name after each write (Checked).11

    Works today
  • FHIR claim records, such as NHCX

India’s NHCX exchanges claims using FHIR profiles.3 The FHIR connector covers single FHIR reads and writes on the record types you list.10 Bundle submissions aren’t covered yet, so for NHCX submissions put Deedglass in front of your claims platform’s API instead.

    Partly
  • Oracle or SQL Server, directly

There is no connector for these databases yet.12 Go through your platform’s API instead.

    Not today

For audits and complaints

A sealed record of every step.

An illustration with made-up data. The approved claim decision becomes a record that is signed and linked to the one before it, so changing or removing an earlier record shows when the chain is checked.14 An auditor can check the records offline, without us.14

Each step, sealed

Each record says which agent acted, which rule decided, who approved and when, what happened, and what the check found.14 An insurer’s auditor can check the records offline, without us.14

Finding a claim later

Filter by date, tool, decision, check result, or the person or case the agent acts for.13 So have your agent send the claim number as that reference, and you can pull up one claim’s records for a complaint.

Data in India, on your servers

It runs on your servers and sends us nothing by default. If they are in India, your records stay in India.14 CERT-In asks for system logs to be kept for 180 days within India.17

Claim files hold health data

Switch PHI mode on. Records then keep ids and fingerprints, not the content.15 Approvers then check the amount and the reason in your claims system. The DPDP Rules ask for logs to be kept for a year; sealed records are never cleared.16

Plainly

What it is not.

  • No claim decisions.

Deedglass doesn’t adjudicate, score fraud or judge medical need. It decides whether an AI’s action runs under your rules, and records it.

  • Nothing faster.

It adds a human step where your rules ask for one. It doesn’t measure or shorten your turnaround.

  • No bundle submissions yet.

The FHIR connector covers single reads and writes, not NHCX bundle submissions. Ask us about your NHCX flow.

  • Not audited yet.

No SOC 2 report or ISO 27001 audit yet. Your vendor-risk team can read the open-source code and run it on your servers.

  • Email or console sign-in.

Sign-in is by emailed link, with no SSO yet.9

  • Free while we grow.

Every feature is free to use while we grow. Paid support, SLAs and a hosted version for organisations come later; anything free today stays free for teams that run Deedglass themselves.
